Impacting the Lives of Children

In 2010 the Colorado Children’s Chorale engaged an independent consultant to assess the impact that participation in the Chorale has on children’s development. Developmental assets are the “building blocks” children need to grow into healthy, caring and responsible adults.  The evaluation assessment demonstrates the positive impact participation in the Chorale has on children in the following ways:

  • Positive identity (self-esteem and optimism about the future)
  • Social skills (relationships and interaction with peers of different backgrounds)
  • Commitment to learning (importance of learning inside and outside of school)
  • Constructive use of time and involvement in creative activities
  • Supportive relationships with adults and peers who model positive and responsible behavior
  • Youth empowerment (performance and personal value)
