The Choirs

All Colorado Children’s Chorale programs are aligned to the Colorado Content Model Standards in Music, Dance and Theater. 

Colorado Children’s Chorale Curriculum

Prep Choir

  • entry-level training choir
  • second- through fourth-grade
  • weekly one-hour rehearsals
  • three to five community performances per season
  • showcase concert with Apprentice Choir
  • appearances with performing choirs in major season concerts


Apprentice Choir

  • advanced training choir
  • third- through fifth-grade
  • weekly 75-minute rehearsals
  • day camp in the fall
  • three to five community performances per season
  • showcase concert with Prep Choir
  • appearances with performing choirs in major season concerts


Concert Choir

  • performs regularly throughout the Denver metropolitan area
  • weekly two-hour rehearsals
  • three-day performance training camp in the fall
  • major season concerts
  • seven to 10 community and school performances per season
  • appearances with other arts organizations including The Colorado Symphony, Central City Opera and Opera Colorado


Tour Choir

  • performs in Denver and on performance tours around the nation and the world
  • requires the ability to maintain academic requirements while touring
  • twice weekly two-hour rehearsals
  • eight-day performance training residency in the summer
  • major season concerts and community performances
  • appearances with other arts organizations including The Colorado Symphony, Central City Opera, Opera Colorado and Aspen Music Festival


Alumni

  • for Children's Chorale alumni of high school age
  • Studio Voices

    • 90-minute voice classes; individual instruction in a group setting
    • prepare solo repertoire for All State Choir and high school musical/choir auditions
    • class culminates in an informal public recital

    Transitions

    • a small ensemble for young high school alumni
    • weekly 90-minute rehearsals
    • appearances with performing choirs throughout the season
