National Tour Choir will add to the spirit of the holiday’s by performing for this kick-off event.
For the sixth year, the Governor’s Office and the Governor’s Residence Preservation Fund (GRPF) invites ASID Colorado to provide the holiday decorations for the Governor’s Residence at the Boettcher Mansion. “Colorado’s Home” as the Residence is known, welcomes well over 10,000 guests during the holiday season, most visiting expressly to view the decorations.
As they celebrate the 10th anniversary of the GRPF and the 110Th anniversary of the Cheesman-Boettcher Mansion, passage of time is the inspiration behind the theme, “Decades of Design in Colorado”. Designers will focus on the historic re-creation of period holiday decorating and the fantasy of an era; looking at fashion, textiles, culture, & design for inspiration.
Room designs will tell stories of Colorado, various regions of Colorado, and of the Governor’s Residence’s inhabitants. One of our goals is to educate our holiday guests with stories of Colorado history and inspire them to learn more about our colorful state.
