SHAOCHUN TSAI, Pianist and Artistic Assistant, is a Taiwanese collaborative pianist and educator. In addition to being an active pianist, Dr. Tsai earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in trumpet performance at Arizona State University, where she studied with the prestigious trumpet virtuoso and pedagogue, David Hickman. During that time, she was given the Outstanding Talented Graduate Student Award scholarship and served as a graduate teaching assistant for the trumpet studio as well as teaching the High Brass Method class at Arizona State University.
Since relocating to Denver, Colorado in 2019, Dr. Tsai has been collaborating and performing with professional musicians including distinguished conductors Duain Wolfe, Peter Oundjian, Christopher Dragon, and many others. Currently, Dr. Tsai serves as a pianist for the Colorado Symphony Chorus and several local school choirs. With more than 15 years of teaching music lessons, she enjoys sharing the joy of music with students of all ages.
